... set up a project professionally and get started
"The start of a project is formative for its entire course and success. Project team members still tell me about good and (unfortunately mostly) bad experiences years after the project start.
You can do a lot right with a successful kick-off. I make sure that it is not a frontal presentation, but an active workshop. Topics that are particularly suitable for a workshop at the beginning are An elaboration of the project goals (e.g. using OKR), team roles, joint project planning. My usual procedure for a successful start-up workshop is as follows:
In a preliminary meeting, we define the objectives and the framework together. I get to know you and the project. Then we generate a collection of ideas for the agenda together. Here I bring in examples, a tried-and-tested structure and impulses, which we then record together. I work out the agenda, organize the location together with team events and, if necessary, create a presentation that we agree on. I usually involve the project team in the design before the workshop with the help of a coordinated survey. During the workshop, you can then rely entirely on my moderation and guidance. At the end, I process the results in such a way that you can continue working with them seamlessly and receive appropriate photo documentation."
- We have a new, important project. How can we set it up really well?
- What can we do wrong when starting a project?
- Do we still have to formally launch the project somehow?
- The project has been running for a short time, why can't the team get off the ground?
- I think we started the project and didn't even know why. How can we correct this?
- How can I make sure that my idea for the project is actually implemented?
- How can I weld the project team together again, especially at the beginning?
